Attack of the Tweens

My oldest daughter just turned 11 and she wanted to have a sleep over! They had a lot of fun, but I was scared lol! I locked my self in my room and let them go at the living room! They watched scary movies and did makeup! I could hear them hooting and hollering until 3am, when they all passed out right where they were!

Things are a little crazy here, posts will be back to normal after the holidays! But I will post when I can until then!
xoxoxo
Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving Candy Making ~ Peanut-butter Balls

We are not celebrating Thanksgiving Today at the Wyatt Farm because Daddy is out on the road and we do not want to celebrate with out him, so we will be having our dinner on Saturday! Today the girls and I made candies and cookies. So this weeks recipe will be for Daddy's favorite. Recipe will be posted below the sideshow of my daughters at work in the kitchen. Enjoy! & Happy Thanksgiving!

Peanut Butter Balls
Ingredients:
18 Oz creamy PB
1/2 lb butter
1.5 lb powdered sugar (10x)
3/4 slab food grade paraffin wax
18oz semi sweet choclate
* if  your walmart is like mine and dosnt have any of the above mentioned wax you can subsitiute that choc. dip that you nuke to melt and dip the strawberries or whatever in for the wax and semi sweet choc. . Works fine but you will need 3-4 tubs of it for the recipe above.

Directions:
Mix PB, butter, and sugar. Roll into small balls & freeze, overnight if possible. Insert toothpicks (optional, but makes dipping in choc. neater). Use a double boiler and , melt wax and choc. Dip balls & set on wax paper.
I left half in the freezer while dipping to keep them firm otherwise the toothpicks fall off. I also put them back in the freeze after dipped for a few hours - overnight. Then I serve them up on a pretty platter and they don't last long!
This is a great quick recipe that kids can do. My 4 yer old did it all with no worries. I just mixed up the batter showed them how much to use to make a ball then let them go at it! So Yummy!

Cute Kid Contest

I am entering my little one Catherine in the cute kid contest hosted by Freckles and Fudge and Unexpected Surprises . Catherine is an adorable little girl and I chose this picture because it shows her beautiful face and it is my favorite picture of her.
I think that she should win the custest kid contest, because she is a great little girl with the kindest of hearts. It only takes a few moments when meeting her to see that she is beautiful thru to her heart and soul. She always has a kind word and is the best little helper. She loves to ride horses and will cuddle any animal or person that will let her. This beauty is not just skin deep.
Please hop on over and vote for her (Catherine), she is not only beautiful but a very kind soul!
Added: If you don't see her picture listed yet just add her name to other and click vote! Thanks all!
As I'm writing this she is sitting here playing with her barbies and telling me that she loves me bigger than the sky. She makes my heart so warm and tingly.

New Camera Fun

I spent a good hour or so this afternoon playing with my new camera. Action shots are my favorite and up until now I have not been able to get any good clear action shots. I am so in love with this camera. Catherine was happy to be my test subject for the day, she had a blast running down the hall and being allowed to jump on the bed.
A whole new world has just opened up for me and I will be clicking away all the time lol. I loved to take pictures before, now I am at a whole new level.

Now if only I could win the giveaway over at One Little Mister I would be all set in the way of photos.

DD10 is Growing Up

My 10 year old daughter is growing up so fast. Tomorrow at 515 am she departs for her very first over night field trip with her class. They are going to Frankfort, the state capital and Mammoth Cave. This is going to be such a great experience for her, though I had to fight daddy tooth and nail to let her go. He did not think that she was old enough, he is like all dad's of little girls and is so afraid to let her grow up. I finally got him to agree and let her go.
She is so excited that she can hardly sleep, it is so cute.

Pumpkin Carving

We went and picked our pumpkins this past weekend and carved them all up on Sunday afternoon! It was a lot of fun, though I have to say that I can not stand the smell of pumpkin guts! Yuck! Neither does my little one apparently, and she refused to touch the insides she said that they were nasty. So here is a slideshow of us carving and then the final result.

Yes we were in our PJ's lol, Sunday is a lazy day and no one felt like changing. We had a great time, this was the first time that we carved the pumpkins, usually we just draw on them and be done with it. We had a great time, and pumpkin carving is a new tradition that is here to stay at the Wyatt Family Farm!

My Student of the Month

So about a week ago I get the following email from my daughters teacher.
Tiffany,
I wanted to let you know that Bailey will be the Student of the Month for this month- the title is "Class Helper." The assembly will be on Tuesday, Aug. 31 @ 2:00 in the gym. She does not know about this, so let's keep it a secret until then!!! :) She will be excited!

If you have any questions, email me. I hope you can make it to the assembly! Thanks!!!

Amanda
So I go to the assembly today, with my new haircut. Bailey (DD10) looks over at me wondering what in God's name I am doing there and where did your hair go...
So I smile at her and proceed to watch the assembly. When her name was called for student of the month, you would have thought that she won the lottery. She was so very excited!
She got the award for being a fansatic helper in and out of the classroom. Helping the teachers, admins and other students with out being asked.
This award suits my daughter to a T, as she will go out of her way to help.
And now to the pictures..... I really need to get a camera, my phone camera just does not cut it.

Catherine(DD4) was so proud of her sister, she ran up to her in the middle of the assembly to give her a hug. It was too cute.
