Things I Love Thursday

     McDonald's fries are one of my ultimate pleasures, there is something about the hot crunchy goodness that I can not deny. I know they are children's food really but I do not care, they make me smile. I treat myself almost every Friday while running my errands, I stop by and get me a large.. Oh so yummy, just thinking about it makes me with it was Friday already. Everyone needs a guilty pleasure, this is just one of my many, LOL!

     I also love menu planning, but we will save that for a Works For Me Wednesday.

Hello Friends and Fellow Bloggers!

So yes we are stealing the idea and want to know if some of you would like to jump on board our quest to gain more followers, fans, readers or subscribers and give one lucky winner a cash prize giveaway of $100 dollars. Heather @ Mommy Only has Two Hands recently entered the Super Bowl $200 cash prize giveaway and thought wow what an amazing idea. What those group of bloggers did was gather 15 people to contribute a little of their own cash to a lump sum for one winner so they could gain more facebook fans. I think its a splendid idea so Heather approached me about it and we will be hosting this event and would like to invite 8 other bloggers to help host the event.

The deadline to enter as a host is February 15th at 11:59pm AZ Time. We will announce the 8 winners on that day. On February 17th We will start the contest on each blogger's blog and contestants will have to fan, follow or subscribe to just one of each blogger's twitter, facebook, blog or newsletters for an entry. Blogger's must decide what they want as an entry. You can only have one as we don't want the entries to be too complicated for contestants.

So this will be a contest to be a host for this giveaway event. Entering your name on the linky form means you agree to submit $10 as apart of the giveaway. We will collect the money via paypal if you are drawn as a winner. Heather from Mommy Only has Two Hands or I will draw 8 winners via random.org and will announce the winners on February 15th. The winners will be contacted via the email they provide in the linky form and must respond within 12 hours, or another winner will be chosen to help co-host.

I was as always about this time this month, running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Trying to tie up loose ends and get Christmas stuff done and out of the way so that I can enjoy my holiday! that never seems to happen though, I do enjoy the holidays, just not as much as I would if I could sit back and relax during it. At this time last year we were living in Florida and it was so warm and wonderful. As I am writing this now we are under winter weather warnings and the roads are icy!
I hope everyone stays safe this holiday, and I will see you back here once everything has calmed down. Ill still be around just not as often as I like to be. u know how the holidays are. With that I will take you out with my favorite Christmas song!

I sing this every year sitting in my husbands lap on Christmas Eve, waiting to make sure the kids are asleep and its ok to bring out the gifts! He loves it!

Christmas Traditions Blog Hop

With my last post I thought that this may be a fun hop for the month! I am going to keep it simple since December is such a busy month for most of us! The rules are easy!

Our Traditions:
Baking and candy making, is our biggest tradition. the kids and I love to fill the house with the wonderful smell of cinnamon and gingerbread during the holidays. Granted we bake all year round, but no the warm yummy treats that we make at Christmas. We make candies, which is so much fun and the kids get a kick out of painting with colored chocolates each year.

Sing, we sing carols all month long, get in the car and turn it up!

We are still adding to these traditions every year, so we are excited to see what traditions other families have! Happy Hopping and Happy Holidays!

Hump day! I am so glad that this week is half over. I feel like I have been running 90 to nothing all week. I am behind in everything and can not seem to catch up no matter what I do. To make matters worse I feel a cold coming on which is never that simple with me, it always seems to end up as phenomia and me on bed rest for a week, with a cracked rib from coughing.  I know its my own fault from smoking but I am just unable to quit right now. Lord knows I have tried, and tried everything. I even took that Chantix, but that made me more of an unstable nut than I already am so that had to go. lol

     I had to unzip some photo files today looking for pictures and such to add to today's hop. I could not narrow down the photos and they are not really from a year ago, some go back as far as 2006, but I could not resist. I just had to share with you all. Here is my "A Year Ago" entry:
      A year ago today I posted a menu for the week. As I look at it, it looks super yummy and I think that I might make it this weeks menu. Here is what I was serving up a year ago.

Monday - Pasta Puttanesca and home aide Garlic Sticks
Tuesday - BBQ Chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and cornbread (not the jiffy kind)
Wednesday - Baked Pasta and Garlic Sticks
Thursday - Fried Chicken, boiled potatoes, white beans, and cornbread
Friday - Leftovers
Saturday - Chicken with Cream of mushroom soup and homemade egg noodles with garlic sticks
Sunday - dinner at a friends

I love making menus, it makes dinner time so much easier at my house. On any given day who knows what activities we have, so knowing what I am going to serve that night makes things so much less stressful. If it is something that has a lot of prep and we have activities that night; I know what Ill be serving and prep a day or 2 before so that its ready to go when we get home from the activity.
