I was as always about this time this month, running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Trying to tie up loose ends and get Christmas stuff done and out of the way so that I can enjoy my holiday! that never seems to happen though, I do enjoy the holidays, just not as much as I would if I could sit back and relax during it. At this time last year we were living in Florida and it was so warm and wonderful. As I am writing this now we are under winter weather warnings and the roads are icy!
I hope everyone stays safe this holiday, and I will see you back here once everything has calmed down. Ill still be around just not as often as I like to be. u know how the holidays are. With that I will take you out with my favorite Christmas song!

I sing this every year sitting in my husbands lap on Christmas Eve, waiting to make sure the kids are asleep and its ok to bring out the gifts! He loves it!

     I had to unzip some photo files today looking for pictures and such to add to today's hop. I could not narrow down the photos and they are not really from a year ago, some go back as far as 2006, but I could not resist. I just had to share with you all. I spent the last hour or so flipping thru and smiling like a fool as I looked at these. I love this hop and decided that you all might like to see a little more of my kids from before you knew us. I hope that you enjoy!

Here is my "A Year Ago" entry:
      A year ago today I posted a menu for the week. As I look at it, it looks super yummy and I think that I might make it this weeks menu. Here is what I was serving up a year ago.

Monday - Pasta Puttanesca and home aide Garlic Sticks
Tuesday - BBQ Chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and cornbread (not the jiffy kind)
Wednesday - Baked Pasta and Garlic Sticks
Thursday - Fried Chicken, boiled potatoes, white beans, and cornbread
Friday - Leftovers
Saturday - Chicken with Cream of mushroom soup and homemade egg noodles with garlic sticks
Sunday - dinner at a friends

I love making menus, it makes dinner time so much easier at my house. On any given day who knows what activities we have, so knowing what I am going to serve that night makes things so much less stressful. If it is something that has a lot of prep and we have activities that night; I know what Ill be serving and prep a day or 2 before so that its ready to go when we get home from the activity.

About a year ago today I was working and my little one went to my friends house while I was gone. She had a great teenager (left) that loved to play with Catherine and so did her best friend (right). This day they were practicing being superstars and striking a pose! So cute!

Biggest hit of the night was the slide with Aunt Jessie, no Aunt Jessie is not 12 she is 25 I swear. lol

We were at the Fall Festival at our church just having a good time any playing on the bouncy things.. I took the pictures and Aunt Jessie went with Catherine, because she is skinner, lol.



LOL you all must think I only have 1 kid, the other 2 are almost impossible to catch on camera these days they are always doing something. Catherine on the other hand is a cheese. Bailey stands for it, but Taylor hates the camera. The other 2 are around I swear they are not locked in a closet somewhere, on this day there were hanging out with there cousin!

A year ago today I was at a job interview for comcast. I had not worked in a long time and thought it might be good for me and my family. I must have smoozed them pretty good, because I got the job.
I worked there for about 7 months and I liked it well enough, but i felt that my family was suffering. That was all i needed to realize that what was best for my family is that I am home to take care of them. That is my job and I love every minute of it. I will not go back to work until my children are much older!

Here is my "A Year Ago" entry:
      A year ago today my family and I were still living in Florida and while many people were packing up there summer clothes and draining out there pools we were headed to the beach. September was always one of my favorite months in Florida, because it was not unbearably hot, there was a nice breeze but it was still warm enough to lay on the sand and swim in the Gulf.

 As I sit here and look back, it seems so wrong that the little one and I were at the beach having a grand old time while sissy's were at school and DH was at work. I have to tell you though we had a great time though. Lunch oh Lord was lunch ever wonderful. We went to the Daiquiri deck on Siesta Key. I had a Margarita and Catherine (Kitty) had a virgin strawberry daiquiri, we munched on shrimp, clams, and some old bay seasoned fries.. It was a wonderful day.

What wonderful memories

Now that I wrote this I am going to have to suck up every moment I have with this little one this year as next year she starts school. What am I going to do?? I will say that I am loving this blog hop, I love taking a walk down memory lane. Walk with me won't you!?

Catherine's First Hair Cut

My Little One's First Hair Cut!

A year ago today, my little girl got her first hair cut, I am not sure who was more nervous me or her. Though I am sure you can see the worry on her face. I am sure that she was thinking, who is this and what are they doing near my head with those sharp scissors. I watched the whole thing from behind my camera, I was to afraid to look at it directly. LOL! It's silly now how irrational I was about her getting her hair cut, but I could not help it at the time. I still a year later carry those locks that were cut off around my neck in the locket her daddy gave me years ago, and that is where it will stay. I never take it off.
